Terms of Use
Effective September 23, 2026
These terms cover your use of caicreations.com, the public website of CAI. They are written to be read, so they are short and in plain English.
Using this site
caicreations.com is operated by CAI LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company that trades as CAI (“CAI”, “we”, “us”). These terms apply to every page of the site, including the case studies under /work/ and the concept demos under /demos/. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled on the site and is part of how we run it.
Website terms, not a services contract
These terms govern use of the public website only. They are not an agreement for website design, development, hosting, care plans or any other service. Any work CAI does for you is governed by a separate written proposal, agreement or statement of work, and if that document conflicts with these terms, that document controls for the work it covers.
Prices and service descriptions on the site describe what CAI currently offers. They may change, and they do not by themselves form a contract. The scope and price of any project are confirmed in writing before work begins.
What you may do
You may browse the site, use the concept demos, share links to any page, and print or save a copy of a page for your own reference, including to evaluate CAI’s services.
What you may not do
When using the site, please do not:
- attempt to disrupt, overload or impair the site or the systems it runs on;
- probe or test the site for vulnerabilities, or try to get around any security measure, without our written permission;
- introduce malware or any other harmful code;
- use automated tools to copy or collect content from the site at a scale that places an unreasonable load on it;
- copy, republish or sell the site’s design, code, text, screenshots, videos or demos, or present CAI’s work or the concept demos as your own or as a real business;
- use the CAI name or logo in a way that suggests a connection with or endorsement by CAI that does not exist; or
- use the site for anything unlawful.
Ownership of site content
The site’s design, text, code, graphics, screenshots, videos and concept demos, and the CAI name and logo, belong to CAI LLC or are used with permission. Photographs in the concept demos come from third-party photographers and are used under their licences. The site is built with open-source software and fonts that remain subject to their own licences.
Apart from what the section above allows, using the site does not give you any licence or other right to its content or to the CAI name and logo.
Concept and demo content
Stonepitch, Caliper, Emberline and Rookwork are fictional businesses created by CAI to demonstrate website work. They are not CAI clients, and the case studies describe concept work, not results achieved for a client. Any similarity to a real business with a similar name is unintended.
Everything inside the demos, including business names, services, descriptions, photographs and forms, is illustrative. Nothing in them is an offer of goods or services, and their forms send nothing. Please do not rely on them as information about a real business, or try to contact one through them. Portfolio material on this site is concept work unless it is clearly labelled as work for a client.
Information on this site
The site gives general information about CAI and its services. We work to keep it accurate and up to date, but it may contain errors or become out of date, and we may change it at any time without notice. It is not legal, financial, technical or other professional advice for your particular situation.
Third-party services and links
Email links open your own email app or service, and any links to other websites take you outside this site. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Availability
We aim to keep the site available and working well, but we cannot promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change, suspend or remove any part of the site, including the demos, at any time, for example for maintenance or updates.
Disclaimer
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties about the site, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. This section does not limit any rights you have that cannot be limited by law, and it does not affect any warranty given in a separate written agreement for services.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, CAI LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, this public website. To the same extent, our total liability for any claim relating to your use of the public website is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).
These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, and they do not apply to CAI’s obligations under a separate written agreement for services, which has its own terms.
Responsibility for misuse
If you misuse the site in breach of these terms, or use it to break the law or infringe someone else’s rights, you are responsible for the reasonable claims, losses and costs that result, to the extent they are caused by that misuse.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these terms or your use of the site will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, unless the law that applies to you requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page shows when they were last revised. Changes apply from that date, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
General
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. If we do not enforce a part of these terms straight away, that does not mean we have given up the right to do so later. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and CAI about using the public website.
